Flip appoints ex-Meta leaders as it builds on momentum as the leading alternative to Workplace

Flip, a leading frontline employee super-app in Europe, announced two strategic appointments. Abby Guthkelch joins Flip as a VP of Executive Advisory and Benny Gould as VP of International Sales; both having held senior roles at Workplace from Meta.

Following Meta’s announcement to close its Workplace platform in 2026, Flip is rapidly building momentum as the leading alternative for enterprises with large proportions of frontline employees. The two appointments signal Flip’s commitment to supporting businesses globally in connecting with their employees to drive engagement and productivity.

With almost 20 years in the digital experience space, Abby Guthkelch joins Flip from Meta; where she spent the last five and a half years leading Global Executive programmes for the Workplace from Meta product. At Flip, Abby is focused on further deepening Flip’s understanding of and alignment with the needs of frontline workers, as well as ensuring Flip’s solutions achieve organisations’ core business objectives. This will include establishing regional Flip Customer Advisory Boards, reflecting Flip’s customer-centric approach to product development.

Guthkelch said: “With frontline workers making up 80% of the global workforce, our economies could not survive without them – but today, 66% of workers do not have access to a corporate device. They are chronically underserved and under-engaged. Connecting and empowering these disconnected workers is the singular mission for myself and the wider Flip team. I’m excited to work with our partners, customers and their employee bases to ensure our platform consistently exceeds expectations.”

Benny Gould brings over 15 years’ experience in HR tech and was the founding first hire for the Workplace from Meta business in Australia. At Flip, he will be the driving force behind Flip’s international expansion, helping bridge the distance between those who procure tech and those employees on the ground who use it. He’ll focus on retail, hospitality, logistics and manufacturing and supply chain businesses.

Benedikt Brand (né Ilg), CEO and Co-founder of Flip, said: “Bringing Benny and Abby to the team is a big win for Flip and a critical part of our mission to empower frontline workers worldwide. Their combined expertise in HR tech and customer engagement will be instrumental in positioning Flip as the go-to platform for frontline employees and building simply the best platform out there.”

These senior appointments at Flip follow its recently announced acquisition of The Bot Platform, an enterprise software solution that helps HR and communication teams supercharge the way they work via automated workflows and AI agents.
